It Was Never About a Perfect Launch
People meet Love on The World and assume it began with a logo. It didn’t. It began on Friday nights in Hamilton with Katie and me, a cooler of food, and a simple assignment: go love people where they actually are.
Rain. Snow. Holidays. The nights that “didn’t work.” The nights someone remembered our names. The pattern was the same: show up, stay present, pray, come back. “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9).
What a Hamilton Friday Actually Looks Like
- Pray before you pack. The street is not a program. Ask the Lord of the harvest first (Matthew 9:38).
- Keep the kit simple. Meals, socks, water, a listening ear. Presence preaches louder than a speech.
- Learn names. The tenth conversation is where trust usually lives.
- Go with someone. Jesus sent them two by two. Wisdom and courage travel better in pairs (Luke 10:1).
- Debrief in love. What happened? Who needs follow-up? What will we pray for this week?
Why Rhythm Beats Hype
A festival can open a city. A Friday night can hold a city. Both matter. If you only do the loud thing, you miss the people who will never walk onto a stage lawn. If you only do the quiet thing, you forget the city still needs Jesus lifted up in public. We do both because the Gospel is both intimate and public.
If you are in Hamilton, you are welcome. Start at LoveonHamilton.com or KD-Ziedins.com. If you are not, do not wait for our city to become your excuse. Pick one night. Guard it. Love the people on your actual streets.
